Donald Kunze Obituary
Donald J. Kunze, age 82 0f Deckervile, passed away unexpectedly in his home Saturday November 18, 2017.
He was born August 20, 1935, in Minden City, the son of the late Frank and Bertha (Strochien) Kunze.
Don grew up in the Palms area and attended the Snay Country School. He attended high school and later graduated from Deckerville Community School. He was a lifelong area farmer who enjoyed hunting, gardening, card playing, watching Western movies, traveling, telling jokes and being with family. He was also very giving. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Forestville.
He is survived by two daughters, Roxane (Charles) Kunze-Hawkins of Kalkaska and Jody (Brad) Trowhill of Deckerville; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother Richard (Jean) Kunze of Palms; a sister Beverly Kula of FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Kunze and Leroy Kunze and one grandson Brandon Trowhill.
Funeral services to honor the life of Donald J. Kunze will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday November 22, 2017 in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Slivka will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 PM., Tuesday and 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Wednesday
Memorials may be given to the Goodtimers Club or St. Jude.
