Harvey Abend Obituary
Harvey James Abend, 84 of Palms, MI passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 peacefully in his home.
He was born August 29, 1932 in Palms, MI, son of the late William and Della (Harnisch) Abend.
Harvey graduated with the Class of 1950 from Deckerville High School.
He married Lois Keding on August 31, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, MI. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Palms and later St. John Lutheran Church in Port Sanilac. He was a cash crop and hog farmer and worked hard all his life. He loved to polka dance and spent many winters in Florida. He loved spending time with his family and friends, visiting and playing Euchre.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Abend of Palms; one son, James (Tina) Abend of Palms; three daughters, Laura (Zach) Griffin of Auburn Hills; Kristine (Brian) Aldrich of Sandusky and Susan Abend of Deckerville; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Clarence Abend, Clara Abend, Dorothy Evans, Bertha Dreher, Isabel Abend and Ralph Abend.
Visitation for Harvey will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 at Apsey Funeral Home, Deckerville. Visitation will also held Wednesday, July 19, at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Sanilac from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 with Pastor Leo Thoms officiating.
Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Palms.
