Marilyn Bishop Obituary

Marilyn S. Bishop, age 82, of Deckerville, passed away Saturday June 4, 2016 in the home of her son in Detroit.

She was born August 26, 1933 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Stanley and Ruth (Sibley) Holmwood.
She grew up in Highland Park.

Marilyn married Paul Bishop on January 3, 1998 in Palmer Woods. Mrs. Bishop was a retired Registered Nurse. She worked as a post-op nurse during the early days of open heart surgery. She was a volunteer at Recording for the Blind, making audio recordings of books for the blind. She was also a gourmet cook who loved to prepare large, multi-course meals for family and friends. Mrs. Bishop volunteered at the Deckerville Public Library for the last fifteen years.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Paul of Deckerville, daughter Hale Wells of Clarkston, Son Kenan Bakirci of Detroit and special ‘daughter' Stacey Rajewski of Saline. She is also survived by grandchildren Tyler, Nicholas, Olivia, Elliott, and special granddaughter Amanda, who recently gave us her only great-grandchild, Joey.
