Melvin Goheen Obituary
Melvin E. Goheen, age 91, of Deckerville, died Monday April 9, 2018 in Deckerville Community Hospital.
He was born July 14, 1926 in Wheatland Township, the son of the late Ernest and Harriet (Couch) Goheen.
On June 5, 1954 he married Miss. Eva Stoutenburg in Deckerville.
Melvin was a former employee of Johnson Milk, Marlette Trailer factories and the Deckerville DPW. He also served as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years on the Deckerville Fire Department. His main hobby was hunting. He attended the Deckerville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Eva of Deckerville, one son Allan (Sharon) Goheen of NC.; one daughter Shirley (Mike) Malone of Wolverine; six grandchildren, Joshua Dutcher, Nicholas Goheen, Alexandra Hindes, Colton Goheen, Joseph Goheen, and Sheridan Goheen; three great grandchildren Alyssa Dutcher, Jason Dutcher, and Holt Hindes.
He was preceded in death by one Grandson Chris Dutcher; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services to honor the life of Melvin E. Goheen will be 11:00 AM., Thursday April 12, 2018 in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Matt Osborne will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM Wednesday and 10:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday.
Memorials may be given to the family's discretion.
