Melvin Lamont Obituary
Melvin K. Lamont, age 80, of Deckerville, passed away in Lake Huron Medical Center, Port Huron on Wednesday April 26, 2017.
He was born July 8, 1936 in Deckerville, the son of the late Ray and Bernice (Tarzwell) Lamont.
Melvin married Carolyn Campbell on August 2, 1958 in Deckerville, she preceded him in death on February 11, 1995.
Melvin was a lifelong area farmer, and a member of the Black River Area Antique Power Club. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff (Laurie) Lamont of Lake Port, Mike (Maureen Valdez) Lamont of Deckerville; one daughter Cheryl (Chuck) Becker of Deckerville; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one son-in-law Chad Snell of Traverse City; one brother William (Theresa) Lamont of Linden; and one sister Mrs. Janice Farrar of St. Clair.
He was preceded in death by one daughter Linda Snell in 2012, and one brother Raymond Lamont.
Funeral services to honor the life of Melvin K. Lamont will be 1:00 PM., Sunday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Slivka will officiate. Burial will be in East Marion Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:00-9:00 PM., Saturday in the Apsey Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to United Hospice.
