William Lakatos Obituary

William Lakatos, age 77 of Frankenmuth, formerly of Deckerville, passed away Thursday April 20, 2017 in Covenant-Harrison Health Care, Saginaw.

Born March 12, 1940 in Dowell, IL, the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Revez) Lakatos.

He married Miss Judith Ann Sales on November 21, 1964 in Livonia. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruby Sales. Judith preceded him in death on April 15, 2003.

Bill graduated from Deckerville Community High School in 1958. He earned an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from St. Clair County Community College, a BS in Police Administration from Wayne State University, a Master's in Education from University of Michigan and completed his PHD coursework from Wayne State University. He was a police officer with the Detroit Police Department, and a Professor of Criminal Justice at St. Clair County Community College. His total career in Criminal Justice covered 40 years.

Bill was a Veteran of the US Marines, serving in Viet Nam with the 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division. His hobbies included Reading, Writing, and gardening.

He is survived by three children, Jeffery Cynthia and Rebecca

A Private Graveside service was held on Monday in the Downing Cemetery, Deckerville.
