E. Reinelt Obituary

E. David Reinelt, age 91, of Sandusky, died Tuesday January 16, 2024, in the Sanilac Medical Care Facility.

He was born July 29, 1932, in Wheatland Twp., the son of the late Earl and Alberta (Phillips) Reinelt.

David grew up in the Argyle/Deckerville area and attended Wheatland country school. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1955 to 1957.

On September 23, 1967, he married Veda M. (Willis) Turner in Argyle. He owned and operated Reinelt Builders, building pole barns in the area, and was a lifelong area farmer and one of the first farmers to own and sell Harley Stone Pickers, he alsowas a former truck driver for Proto-Craft. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, playing Euchre, visiting with his friends at Dairy Queen, and traveling with Ada and Glen Bilderbeck Veda’s twin sister and brother-in-law. He and Veda were members of Countryside Free Methodist Church.

David is survived by his wife Veda of Sandusky; five children, Frank (Patricia) Reinelt of KY; Rachel (Lonny) Miller of FL, Loretta (Brian) Main of Minden City, Lugene Peters of Cass City and Lynn (Glen) Lewis of NC. Sixteen grandchildren, Angela (Robert) Raetz, Daniel (Salina) Reinelt, Kari (Lamar) Austin, Angela (Nicholas) Bartlette, Christi Hunt, Ashley Adams, Aaron (Tabitha) Olivares, Chad Miller, Chasity (Shawn) Gow, Holly (Porter) Teeple, Candis Miller, Chad (Lisa) Main, Heather (Leah) Main, Kris Kruse, Andrew (Sally) Peters and Corie Lewis. Thirty-four great grandchildren and one sister Alvina Sparks of OR, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Amy Reinelt and Jennifer Lewis, one son-in-law Dale Peters, one sister and brother-in-law Dorena and Charles Langenburg, two brothers Fred Reinelt and George Reinelt and sister-in-law Rose Reinelt.

A graveside service will be held later to honor the life of E. David Reinelt.

Memorials may be given to the family discretionary fund.
