Arnold Decker Obituary
Arnold W. Decker, age 98 of Deckerville, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday July 20, 2016 in Stonegate Village, Sandusky.
He was born July 1, 1918 in Deckerville, the son of the late Alpheus and Grace (Fritch) Decker.
He married Beryl Morris on February 15, 1941. She precede him in death on June 1, 1977.
Arnold attended Deckerville Community School, Class of 1937. He served in the Army Airforce during WWII where he became a pilot flying the B-25 bomber. After the war Arnold worked for GM, Cadillac Division. When he retired, he moved back to Deckerville to the home he grew up in, and started an apple orchard on the family farm.
Mr. Decker is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Ron) Emery of Port Sanilac, and Penny (Stan) Igielski of Plymouth, eight grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, one brother Winston Decker of Bridgeman, and one sister Mrs. Betty Bates of GA.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Funeral services to honor the life of Arnold W. Decker will be 11:30 AM., Friday in the Deckerville Bible Church. Rev. James Sheldrake will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Samaritans Purse.
Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of services at the church.
