Carl Stringer Obituary
Carl Stringer, age 78, of Deckerville, passed away Friday October 12, 2018 in the Deckerville Community Hospital.
He was born August 16, 1940 in Deckerville, the son of the late Charles and Lucille (Bowerman) Stringer.
Carl grew up in the Deckerville area and was a graduate of the Deckerville Community School Class of 1958.
On November 27, 1965 he married Miss. Rosalie A. Bielski. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1998.
Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Stringer Excavating in Deckerville. He was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.
He was a member of the Sickles-Arnold American Legion Post in Deckerville. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, friends and a good time.
Carl is survived by three sons, Kevin and Teresa Stringer of Deckerville, Charles and Angela Stringer of Palms, and David and Deborah Stringer of Minden City; three grandchildren, Camry, Derek, and Leah; three brothers, Richard (Chris) Stringer of Ossineke, Jack (Kathy) Stringer of Sandusky, and Gerald Stringer; five sisters, Beulah Thayer of FL, Mary Gough of Deckerville, Jean Smith of Marysville, Carol Warner of Gaylord, and Judy (Larry) Van Norman of Deckerville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his special friend Joan Osentoski and one brother James Stringer.
Funeral services to honor the life of Carl Stringer will be 11:00 AM., Tuesday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday 4:00-9:00 PM and 10:00 Am until the time of service on Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
