He graduated from Deckerville High School in 1968 and then Charles moved to Saginaw where he worked construction and attended Delta College. He and his wife Barbara moved to California in 1978 where he worked as a truck driver. Chuck then went on to work for the County of Los Angeles for 28 years. He was due to retire in 2 years, when he was diagnosed with Leukemia and Lymphoma. He succumbed to his disease after an 8 year battle. We are very grateful to the Kaiser Permanente’ Health System for all they did for our brother Charles. Charles enjoyed his morning coffee and to read his newspaper. Then came the discussion on government and politics. He loved riding his Honda motorcycle and was also an avid bicyclist. He enjoyed fishing and driving his pick up. Charles had 3 dogs Diamond, Princess & Max on which the sun rose and set in his eyes. They would all go to bed and watch Anderson Cooper before taking their naps every day. Charles is survived by his wife Barbara, 2 step children Troy & Vickie. One Brother Dennis Thayer & Robin of San Diego. Three sisters: Carol Trainor of Bad Axe. Grace (Tony) Cibulskis of Romulus. Denise (Mic) Crowe of Harbor Beach. Seven grand children and several nieces and nephews.
