Eleanor Boice Obituary
Eleanor E. Boice, age 86, of Ft. Gratiot, formerly of Deckerville, passed away Saturday May 14, 2016 in Blue Water Lodge, Ft. Gratiot.
She was born February 18, 1930 in Deckerville, the daughter of the late Merle M. and Florence W. (Wyllie) Forrester.
Eleanor married her high school sweetheart Mack Boice on October 20, 1950 in Deckerville. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1999.
Mrs. Boice owned and operated the Forrester Department Store from 1964 until 1991 when illness caused her to close the business. She loved her customers and all the friends she had in Deckerville and the surrounding area. She also had many friends in Florida. She was a graduate of Deckerville Community Schools class 0f 1948. She attended the Deckerville Bible church and the 1st Baptist Church of Bradenton, FL.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Michael (Kathleen) Boice of Mooresville, NC, Robert (Denise) Boice of Richmond, VA, and Kathryn Boice of Deckerville, eight grandchildren, Kara (Casey) Veihl, Steven (Jennifer) Boice, Jason Boice, Michelle (John) Simpson, Jeremy Boice, Stephen (Julie) Boice, Stephanie Boice, Spencer (Ginny) Boice, twelve great grandchildren, Rachel, Adam, Thomas, Abigail, Anna, Bethany, and David Veihl, Lucas, Logan and Rebecca Boice, Logan and Connor Boice.
She was preceded in death by one son Craig R. Boice on April 19, 1991.
A memorial service to honor the life of Eleanor E. Boice will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. David Frost will officiate. Burial of her cremains will be in Downing Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Good News Camp or Gideon's International.
