Florence Corrine Regentin, 94, of Deckerville, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at Deckerville Community Hospital after a short illness.
Corrine ("Corney") was born February 5, 1926 in Minden City to the late Henry and Ethel (Carty) Soehner.
She married Eugene Regentin on September 4, 1948 at St. John Lutheran Church, Palms, by Rev. Martin Dienst. Their wedding was the first marriage ceremony performed in the church. Gene passed away on June 5, 2010.
Carrying on her memory are five children, Daniel (Chris) Regentin of Bay City, Kenneth Regentin of Potterville, Randy Regentin of Deckerville, Douglas (Kerry) Regentin of Deckerville, and Janet (Steve) Grimm of Cedar Springs; sister-in-law, Arlene Regentin of Ubly; grandchildren, Jennifer Szychowski of Las Vegas, Jody (Brian) Zinn of Edmore, Shannon (Tom) Arbaugh of Sandusky, Jeff (Tricia) Regentin of Lapeer, and Riley Regentin of Deckerville; great-grandchildren Brianna and Kelsey Zinn, Blake and Cora Arbaugh, Sophia Regentin and Aaron Szychowski; step-grandchildren, Abigail (Trevor) Uitvlugt, Molly Grimm, Robbie Barron, Amanda Witucki, and Lee Miller; and several nieces and nephews including Jeanne and Jim Burgess of Shelby Twp.
She was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Hall and her husband Clair, and her brother Carl Soehner; brothers-in-law, Edward Regentin and his wife Pauline, Gilbert Regentin, and Emerson Breidenbach and his wife Gertrude; and a step-grandchild, Brady Witucki.
Corrine was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Palms and was active in the Ladies Aid for many years. Corrine and Gene spent their retirement winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. She enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and pinochle, spent many enjoyable rounds on the golf course (including "oh, 3 or 4" holes-in-one!), and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Due to concerns with the coronavirus situation, funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
