Gerald Elmer Mosher, age 85, of Flint, MI passed away peacefully at home on April 17, 2023.
He was the first born to Walton and Violet Mosher on September 16, 1937, in Cedardale, MI. He met the love of his life, Catherine (Mary) McFarlane on a blind date on the streets of Sandusky when he was 21 years young and married her just 8 months later on June 20, 1959. They spent 64 wonderful years together and had 4 beautiful children, Darryl R. Mosher of Harrisville, Glenn S. Mosher of Flint, Barbara (Eddie) Spence of Washingtonville, NY and Rex A. Mosher of Mt Morris; 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Gerald retired after 33 years of service working for General Motors and went to work another 10 years for Teachout Security. He served in the US Navy from 1958-1962. He was a member of the Flushing Rifle and Pistol Club for 50 years where he was the Jr Rifle and Hunter Safety Instructor and taught all his kids and many grandkids his love for hunting and gun safety. He loved to spend his free time fishing, hunting, camping and playing cards. Gerald loved carrying on the Mosher Deer Camp started by his father Walt and welcomed anyone into camp with open arms. When he wasn't in the woods, or teaching others gun safety, he was playing Euchre or Solitaire and watching the Detroit Tigers.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, children, grandkids, brothers John (Imogene) and George, sister-in-law Nina Pitcher, many nieces and nephews and other loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughter's-in-law, Halli Mosher and Teresa Mosher.
Funeral services to honor the life of Gerald Elmer Mosher will be at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Christian Bowman will officiate. The burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 PM Friday and 10:00AM-1:00 PM Saturday.
