Gertrude Salowitz Obituary
Gertrude A. Salowitz, age 96, of Palms, died Tuesday June 1, 2021, in Marlette Regional Hospice Facility.
She was born March 25, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa (Tenbush) Booms.
On June 12, 1944, she married Titus Salowitz in Ruth. He preceded in death on July 30, 2014.
Gertrude was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the farm. She was a member of the League of Catholic Women of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and a member of the church for over 70 years. Gertrude was a blood donor for many years. She enjoyed going up north to the family property, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Gertrude is survived by six children; Sharon Tehansky, Audrey Stolicker, David (Susan) Salowitz, Douglas (Jackie) Salowitz, Nancy (Larry) Gearhart and John (Bonnie) Salowitz; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; her sisters Eleanor Woolridge and Irene Lamanski; brother Angus Booms; sisters-in-law Bertha Booms, Barbara Salowitz, and Alice Jane Salowitz and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday June 5, 2021, to honor the life of Gertrude A. Salowitz at 11:00 am, in St. Isidore Parish St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Palms. Fr. Matt Federico will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 AM in the church.
Memorial donations may be given to United Hospice Service, 2770 Main Street Marlette, MI 48453 or St. Isidore Parish.
