Gregory Rich passed away on November 13, 2015 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe, Michigan after a long illness. He was 55.
Greg was born on November 6th, 1960, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He later moved to Deckerville, where he grew up. Greg had various occupations including working at Midwest Rubber Co. and Deckerville Community Schools during his teenage years. Later he worked at the University of Oklahoma where he received a BS degree in computer science. He also received a BS degree from Saginaw Valley State College in Biology. Greg worked in the Food Science lab at the University of Georgia Experiment Station in Griffin, GA. In 1989, he moved to Panama City, FL where he worked for the US Navy for 20+ years. Highlights were trips to sea aboard the USS Bainbridge (DDE96), and other vessels, assisting in testing a mine hunting system. Greg retired in 2010 due to his illness.
He is survived by his mother, Linda (Moody) Eugenis of Deckervile; two brothers Timothy (Julie) of Deckerville and Steven (Hector) of New York; nephew Ethan and nieces Hannah and Sophie, all of Deckerville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Rich; Stepfather Bernard Eugenis; and grandparents Ray and Frances Rich, and Bill and Dorotha Eugenis.
Viewing will be at Apsey Funeral Home in Deckerville, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM., on Wednesday November 18th.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM., Thursday on November 19th in the Apsey Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Downing Cemetery. Pastor David Frost will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
