Jean Allin Obituary
Jean H. Allin, age 77, of Deckerville, passed away Sunday February 14, 2016 in Dawn's Center for Senior Living.
She was born September 4, 1938 in Escanaba the daughter of the late Sidney and Frances (Knight) Shank.
Jean grew up in Minden City where her father was the local pharmacist. She attended and graduated from Harbor Beach High School. Afterward she became an LPN and worked for many years at the Deckerville Community Hospital, several local doctor's offices, and Autumnwood Nursing Home. After her retirement from nursing, she was a volunteer worker at the Deckerville Project Blessing. In her off time she was an avid reader, enjoyed card playing and being with her grandchildren. She was also a past member of the Deckerville Sororian Club.
Ms. Allin is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Allin of Chesterfield Township and Karen Garner of Clinton Township, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother John Shank.
Funeral services to honor the life of Jean H. Allin will be 11:00 AM, Thursday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Fr. Todd Arnberg will officiate.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday and 10:00 AM, until the time of service on Thursday.
Memorials may be given to Deckerville Project Blessing or Deckerville Community Hospital
