John Peresta Obituary
John A. Peresta Sr., age 74, of Deckerville, passed away Monday March 4, 2019 in Cooper-Covenant Hospital, Saginaw after a lengthy illness.
He was born January 31, 1945 in Barberton, OH., to the late Eli and Mary (Vodopia) Peresta.
He married Miss. Christine Belger on June 9, 1973 in Croswell. He served his country as a Marine during the Viet Nam war. He loved bowling, golf and a good game of poker.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years Christine of Deckerville; two sons John Peresta Jr., of WI., and Chris Peresta of Deckerville; one daughter Anna-Marie Peresta of Minden City, Three grandchildren, Hunter Peresta, Adelaide Peresta and Gretchen Peresta all of Lorton, VA; three brothers James Peresta of Davidson, Jerome Peresta of Sandusky and Alex Peresta of Grand Blanc; one sister Melissa Hawkins of Port Huron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Jeffery Peresta and one sister Marsha Peresta.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of John A. Peresta will be 11:00 AM., Friday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Garavaglia will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 PM Thursday and 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Downing Cemetery.
