Lois J. Keinath, age 87 of Deckerville, passed away Friday evening in McKenzie Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 13, 1928 in Frakenmuth, the daughter of the late Leonhard and Julia (Seidel) Ortner.
She married Arnold R. Keinath on May 20, 1948. They were life partners in marriage and on the family farm.
Lois grew up in the Gera/Frankenmuth area. She attended school at St. Lorenz in Frankenmuth. In March of 1959 she and her husband moved to their farm west of Deckerville. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and BINGO and spending winters in Florida. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and was active in the Ladies Aid Society, and a member of Farm Bureau.
She is survived by one son Gerald (Merlann) Keinath of Deckerville, two daughters, Ms. Susan Thayer of CA., and Mrs. Sally (Doug) Tobi of Pt. Sanilac, ten grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, one brother Alvin Ortner of Frankenmuth and one sister Mrs. Beatrice (Delmar) Seinauer of Frankenmuth, and several nieces and nephews.
She was precede in death by one sister Mrs. Elaine Huber.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lois J. Keinath will be 11:00 AM., Tuesday December 29, 2015 in Peace Lutheran Church, Sandusky. Pastor Richard Tino will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:00-9:00 PM., Monday December 28, 2015 in the Apsey Funeral Home and from 10:00-11:00 AM., in the church on Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, Stonegate Village, or the Goodtimers.
