Marvel Lee Haight, 94, of Port Sanilac, Michigan passed away peacefully on July 1, 2019, surrounded by her family. Marvel was born on January 7th, 1925, a daughter of Roy and Hazel Shay, in Winnett Montana. Marvel was raised on a cattle ranch, the youngest of three children. She attended the Shay School, Winnett Elementary and graduated from Fairfield High School, Fairfield Montana. Marvel married Marion Lee in 1951, (Reno, Nevada, LDS Church) and was sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. She lived in Sacramento and moved to Rocklin, California in 1961, residing there for 50 years. She worked at Sierra College for 17 years. Marvel was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations and Ward and Stake Girls Camp Director. As a loving mother, she taught her family the importance of gratitude, charity and being compassionate. She was an example to so many, always trying to find the very best in everyone, showing love and kindness, and being Christ-like. She lived a fulfilling life with her family being the most important. Marvel enjoyed traveling with Austria, Albania, Ireland and Switzerland being amongst her favorites. Marvel is preceded in death by her Parents, Roy William Shay and Hazel Irene Shay. Her husbands Marion Lee and Lloyd Haight, one brother Cleone Shay and sister Margery Shay. Marvel is survived by two sons, Bruce Lee, and Doug Lee of Port Sanilac Michigan. Four grandchildren, Courtney (Blake) Roskelley, Cameron (Hayley) Lee, Brooke (Jordan) Mantzke and Braden Lee. Ten great-grandchildren, Maddison, Sam, Max, Fen, Eli, Murphy, Rain, Cole, Cooper, and Row. Niece's Delma Lawler and Lorry Darley, Nephew's Bob Anderson and Doug Hartelt and several cousins.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 1:00PM with visitation from 12:00-12:45PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rocklin Stake Center (2610 Sierra Meadows Dr., Rocklin, California). A private family graveside service will be held at Newcastle District Cemetery, Newcastle, California.
