Michael J. Pozsgay, age 68, of Deckerville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday September 19, 2020 in Hills and Dales Hospital, Cass City.
He was born November 24, 1951 in Sandusky, the son of the late Steve and Audrey (Morell) Pozsgay.
Mike grew up in Deckerville attended Deckerville Community School graduating with the class of 1969.
On June 13, 1970 he married Miss. Marsha Russell at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Forestville. Together they raised three sons.
He and his wife of 50 years owned and operated the Silver Tavern at the West End of Deckerville for 42 years. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, golf, and spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his wife; sons Kevin and his three daughters, Olivia, Kaitlyn, and Vivian of Shelby Township; Kurt and his wife Claudia of Chicago, IL., and Nick and his wife Angela of Marine City; brothers, Steve (Virginia) Pozsgay of Deckerville, Dan (Cindy) Pozsgay of Columbiaville; sisters, Irene Fuller of Lexington, Bonnie (Larry) Ross of Ubly and Audrey Parrrott of Lazerne; brothers-in-law Tom (Karin) Russell of Palms, Rich Russell of Paw Paw and Sister-in-law Carol Whiting of Port Huron.
He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Harold Fuller and Bill Parrott.
A private family service to honor the life of Michael Pozsgay was held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Forestville. Pastor Henry Hales officiated.
Memorials may be given to the Sanilac Sportsmen's Club or the family discretionary fund.
Arrangements were handled by Apsey Funeral Home.
