Nora Seiler Obituary
Nora V. Seiler, age 100, of Deckerville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2016.
She was born July 16, 1915 in Marion Township, the daughter of the late William and Alberta (O'Brien) Van Sickle.
She married Charles I. Seiler on September 10, 1938 in Deckerville. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1989.
Nora graduated from the Deckerville Community School class of 1932. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Deckerville where she was very active over the years as part of the Ladies Aid and a former Sunday school teacher. She worked as a cook for the Deckerville Community Hospital for many years. She also enjoyed quilting and being with her family.
Mrs. Seiler is survived by two sons, Dennis (Annette) Seiler and Dale (Sandy) Seiler all of Deckerville, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, one brother Merle (Helen) Van Sickle of Port Huron and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Seiler on January 19, 1969 and several brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held May 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Apsey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 Am until the time of service.
Burial was in Downing Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church or the Deckerville Bible Church.
