Pat (Hillbilly) Rothwell 83, of Carsonville, passed away Wednesday April 5, 2017 in Autumnwood of Deckerville.
He was born July 20, 1933 in Thornton, AR, the son of the late Abner and Nettie (Hornaday) Rothwell.
Pat married Miss. Shirley D. Fiebelkorn on December 11, 1954 in Utica.
He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 25 years. He loved hunting and his hunting dogs, he loved sports including coaching girls' softball in Deckerville and Carsonville-Port Sanilac. He also loved playing softball himself. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Port Sanilac.
Pat is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley of Carsonville; one son Patrick (Laura) Rothwell of Memphis; two daughters, Carol (Joseph) Roth of Minden City, and Debbie Salowitz of Deckerville; nine grandchildren Angela (Christopher) Parham, Kari (Marco) Salazar, Brandon Roth, Mallory (John) Breasbois, Scott (Maggie) Salowitz, Nathan Roth, Jenna Salowitz, Marissa and Kaylee Rothwell; six great grandchildren and soon to be seven.
Pat was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex Rothwell and Edward May; three sisters Verna Hudson, Louise Orman, Lorne Creed; and one grandson Kyle Salowitz.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Pat (Hillbilly) Rothwell will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 10, 2017 in St. John Lutheran Church. Pastor Leo Thoms will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 PM Sunday in the Apsey Funeral Home and 10:00 AM until the time of Service at church on Monday.
Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
