Phyllis Patricia Boldt, a long time resident of Deckerville passed away January 25th. Phyllis was born on September 1st, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan. For the past two years Phyllis stayed in western Michigan at the home of her son Douglas Boldt in Big Rapids then at the Beemer Residential Care Center in Evart Michigan. She is survived by four children, Mary O'Connell (Bill) in Nashville, Georgia, William Boldt, (Diane) in Lexington, Kentucky, Susan Glentz in Croswell, Michigan and Ben Boldt, Big Rapids, Michigan. Also survived by one sister, Peggy Herbison in Dickson, Tennessee and one sister-in-law, Elva Cleland (Don) of Deckerville Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband Oren Boldt, two son-in-laws, James Dommer, Russell Glentz, two brothers & two sisters. Also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Mary Ann Bismack.
Phyllis has 13 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was an active member of the East Marion Baptist Church. She earned her LPN nursing degree at 47 years of age and became a home health nurse for several years then finished her nursing career as a nurse at Autumnwood nursing home in Deckerville. Phyllis loved her family and never missed sending everyone a card on their birthday or anniversary.
Memorial services for Phyllis Boldt will be held at the East Marion Baptist Church, Deckerville Michigan on March 7th, at 11:00 am. Rev. David Frost officiating. Graveside services will be at the Forester Cemetery on U.S. 25. Memorials can be made to the East Marion Baptist Church.
