Ray Kamen Obituary

Ray Kamen, age 78, of Deckerville passed away unexpectedly Sunday May 24, 2020 in his home.

He was born March 12, 1942 in Comins, MI, to the late Raymond Kamen and Frances (Kamen) Walk.

On October 1, 1966 he married Miss Linda Howard of Deckerville.

Ray was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam era. He worked for many years for Sandusky Motor Parts and Yager Auto Parts. He served on the Deckerville Village Council for several years, the Deckerville Fire Department, and as a driver for the Deckerville EMS. He was also a former member of the Deckerville American Legion. Anyone who knew Ray knew he loved classic cars and enjoyed participating in car shows. He liked camping with his wife, children, and grandkids.

He is survived by: his wife Linda of Deckerville: two daughters, Tonya Hawken of Reese and Dana (Jeremy) Duff of Sandusky: four grandchildren, Abbi Duff, Brenden Duff, Allison Hawken and Macey Hawken: one brother Don (Elaine) Kamen of Livonia: three sisters, Sally (Steve) Demaray of Wellston, Esther (Joe) Westphal of Kalamazoo, and Virginia (Joe) McIntosh of Austin, Indiana: his mother, Ms. Frances Walk of Marlette, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Kamen, step-father, Rudolph Walk, and son-in-law, Paul Hawken.

There will be no funeral service or visitation for Ray Kamen at this time. In lieu of sending flowers and plants, memorial contributions may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund.
