Raymond Hickson Obituary

Raymond W. Hickson, age 82, of Deckerville, died Sunday September 18, 2022, in Autumnwood of Deckerville.

He was born May 31, 1940, the son of the late Byron and Gertrude (Miller) Hickson.

Ray grew up in the Watertown area and attended Sandusky High School, graduating in 1959. He then entered the US Army and was stationed in Munich Germany until his discharge in 1962.

In 1965 he marred Miss Elaine Wright in Deckerville. He worked at DOTT Manufacturing for nine years and then went to Plasta Coat and Proto Craft as an engineer making early forms of robot machines for tier 2 automotive manufacturing until his retirement. He enjoyed wood working, and building various things, including their house and barn.

Ray is survived by his wife Elaine of Deckerville and his daughter Ms. Shanna Forsyth also of Deckerville; two grandsons, Grant and Ty Forsyth of Deckerville; one brother Dale Hickson of Lake Orion; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Bernice Hartman and Joyce McLennan.

Funeral services for Raymond W. Hickson will be 7:00 PM Friday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Srock will officiate. Burial will be in Washington Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM Friday until 7:00 PM.

Memorials may be given to Compassus Hospice.
