Sherry Ann Hooper, age 64, of Deckerville, passed away Tuesday April 24, 2018 in Marlette Hospice Facility.
She was born July 23, 1953 in Deckerville, the daughter of Kenneth and Ida Wadsworth.
She grew up in the Deckerville area. Graduated from Deckerville Community High School, Class of 1971, and then went on to Michigan State.
On July 2, 1983 she married Ronald Hooper in Lexington.
Sherry was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend. She loved her family and would put them before herself. Her family gave her great joy and she exhibited her love to them daily in so many ways. Sherry was also a hard worker and had a gift of keeping a beautiful household. It was evident to many who visited or just drove past, that Sherry's labor of love was always visible. She was either working in the fields, taking a meal to those in the fields, gardening and mowing the lawn, or helping a friend. Her hands were never idle. Sherry's compassion and love extended out to so many. She was always thinking of, or doing something thoughtful for others.
Sherry was a faithful member of the lady's day committee at the Deckerville Bible Church. Her decoration creativity was enjoyed by many ladies from the community. Sherry was also a blessing to so many by volunteering her time and creative talents helping with the youth groups, children's church and toddler church.
She is survived by her husband Ronald of Deckerville; three daughters, Rhonda Hooper of Oscoda, Laura (Matthew) Baldwin of Hinesburg, VT., Ashley (Kyle) Kelley of Sturgis; two sons, Brent (Tonya) Holzhei of Millington and Grant (Kimberly Schenk) Hooper of Deckerville ; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel (Pam) Wadsworth and Thomas (Sally) Wadsworth both of Sandusky; three sisters, Karen Flanagan of Sandusky, Sally (Dave) McConnachie of Deckervill;e and Peggy McConnachie of Peck; her parents Kenneth and Ida Wadsworth of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to honor the life of Sherry Ann Hooper will be 11:00 AM Saturday April 28, 2018 in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastor James Sheldrake will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-9 PM Friday in the Apsey Funeral Home and 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
Memorials may be given to United Hospice of Marlette.
