Darlene Kay Anglebrandt, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, in Port Huron. Born on August 31, 1963, in Deckerville, Darlene's life was a testament to the love and kindness she shared generously with all who knew her. Darlene's early years were spent in the close-knit community of Deckerville, where she attended Deckerville Community School and graduated in the class of 1982.
Her commitment to her hometown remained a constant throughout her life, as she was a lifelong resident who took pride in her roots. Professionally, Darlene was known for her dedication and work ethic. She was a respected former employee of Clements Manufacturing and AG Manufacturing. Her colleagues remember her as a friendly and supportive presence, always willing to lend a helping hand or share a kind word.
Beyond her work, Darlene found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid BINGO player, a lover of card games, and someone who relished the thrill of buying lottery tickets. Her laughter and excitement were contagious, bringing light and fun to those around her.
Darlene was also a devoted member of the McGregor Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and a community of friends who shared her values. Her faith was an integral part of who she was, guiding her in her daily life and in how she treated others. Those who knew Darlene would describe her as loving, kind, and friendly. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued, traits that endeared her to many.
Her warmth extended to her family, notably her two brothers, Gerald J. Anglebrandt Jr. and Kevin Anglebrandt, and her sister, Charlene Gentner. Darlene was especially close to her nieces and nephews, whom she treated as if they were her own children, showering them with affection and support. Darlene's legacy is one of love and kindness. Her impact on her family, friends, and community will not be forgotten. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. As we bid farewell to Darlene Kay Anglebrandt, we celebrate a life well-lived. Her journey on this earth has ended, but her story will be told for generations, a narrative of a woman who embodied love and kindness in every action.
Darlene was preceded in death by three sisters, Karla Pierson, Barbara Web, and Kimberly Baerwolf; two brothers Ricky Anglebrant and Robert Gifford; and two nieces, Dana Wakefield and Katheryn Webb.
Darlene's family will hold a funeral service at 2:00 PM Friday April 26, 2024, in the Apsey Funeral Home. Pastor Jerry Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 Am-2:00 Pm on Friday.
