Eva Goheen Obituary
Eva F. Goheen, age 88, of Deckerville, died Thursday May 19, 2022, in Northland AFC home in Vanderbilt, MI.
She was born May 26, 1933, in Deckerville, the daughter of the late Earl and Thelma (Colter) Stoutenburg.
Eva grew up in the Deckerville area and graduated from Deckerville Community School in 1951. On June 5, 1954, she married Melvin Goheen in Deckerville. He preceded in death on April 9, 2018.
She worked at the Deckerville Community School for over 25 years as a cook in the lunchroom. She served on the Marion Township election board and was a member of the Deckerville United Methodist Church.
Eva is survived by one son Allan (Sharon) Goheen of NC. One daughter Shirley (Mike) Malone of Wolverine; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin; grandson Chris Dutcher; brother Stuart Stoutenburg and sister Iliane Margodt.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2022, in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Sue Platt will officiate. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday May 24, 2022, in the funeral home 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday 10:00 am until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to the Deckerville Hospital Auxiliary or Downing Cemetery.
