Irma Abbott Obituary
Irma M. Abbott, age 102, of Deckerville, passed away Saturday June 22, 2019 in Autumnwood of Deckerville.
She was born on November 18, 1916 in Bridgehampton Township, the only daughter of the late George and Emma (Kelley) Whitwam.
Irma Whitwam and Grant Abbott were married at her parent's home on August 5, 1938. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1989.
She was a member of the Deckerville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed her family, gardening, quilting and reading.
She is survived by three children; Mary Frances Allen of Port Huron, Dale (Lois) Abbott of Deckerville, and Robert (Sharon) Abbott also of Deckerville; four grandchildren, Jeffery (Debbie) Allen, Paul Allen both of Fl, Teri (Tom) Apsey of Deckerville, and Chris (Sandi) Abbott of VA; one granddaughter-in-law , Sherry Abbott of Deckerville; six great grandchildren; David (Stephanie), Michael, Michelle, Brianna, Grant and Luke; one great great grandson Jacob Apsey; one sister-in-law Alice Whitwam and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Wendell Whitwam in 2009 and grandson David Abbott in 2019.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Irma M. Abbott will be Noon Wednesday in the Apsey Funeral Home. Rev. Susan Platt will officiate. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am., until the time of service on Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to the Downing Cemetery Association.
