Verlee Rich Obituary
Verlee E. Rich, age 94, of Deckerville, passed away Thursday March 13, 2014 in Autumnwood of Deckerville.
She was born in the Deckerville area, the daughter of the late Elmer and Jessie (Frizzell) Phillips.
She married Harry Rich on January 4, 1942 in Deckerville. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1994.
Mrs. Rich was a former Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed her family very much, along with loving to square dance and taking care of other people.
Mrs. Rich is survived by two sons, Gary Rich of Alpena, Dennis and Karen Rich of Okemos, and one daughter, Diane and Richard Alexander of Sarnia, Ont., eleven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Phillips, Orville Phillips, and Russell Phillips, two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Ostertag, and her twin sister Mrs. Vivian Giasone.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Verlee E. Rich, will be held at 1:00 PM. Saturday March 22, 2014 in the Apsey Funeral Home. Mr. Richard Alexander will officiate.
Visitation will be Friday March 21, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 Pm and Saturday from 11:00 AM., until the time of the service.
Burial will be in Downing Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Autumnwood Auxiliary or the Alzheimer's Association.
