Mildred Schmidt

April 16, 1926 - April 7, 2022

Mildred (Mid) Schmidt, age 95 of Prudenville, MI passed away April 7, 2022, at Medilodge of Frankenmuth. She was born in Deckerville on April 16, 1926 to the late Gordon & Sabra (Moore) Caswell. She married Shirley E. (Smitty) Schmidt on January 15,1944. She was a wonderful cook and a beautiful knitter. She also enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, Scrabble & her Euchre Club in Houghton Lake. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Deckerville Deckerville Eastern Star, The Sororian Club, and ladies bowling leagues while she resided in Deckerville. She is survived by her four children Gary of Deckerville, Wayne (Jackie) of Spring Lake, MI, Ruth Parrott of Midland, MI and Al (Arlene) of Bay City, MI. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Shirley, her Mother & Father, 4 Brothers, Merle(Catherine), Arnold(Gerry), Keith (Olga) and Kenneth, her Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law Ed & Clara Schmidt, and Sister-in-Law Verna (Frank) Ostrowski. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 3pm to 8 pm at The Apsey Funeral Home in Deckerville. Funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the funeral home. Luncheon to follow. Burial service thereafter at Washington Cemetery, Carsonville, MI. Memorials may be directed to the Family Discretionary Fund.
